A few companies are rising in the auto sector, but only a few. These include Rimac, Momenta, Perceptive Automata, and Carge. Although the above are well-known because of their innovation, there are many others worth looking into. You can read on to learn which startups you should follow. You may even be able join their ranks in future!

Rivian

James Scaringe was a graduate at MIT. He founded Rivian in 2009. He was inspired by the recent bankruptcy of General Motors and Chrysler. He wanted to build a company that would be a leader in the automotive industry for decades. Although he is not the first to create an electric car company. He credits his time at MIT for helping him overcome many of the challenges that a startup faces. The company plans to use technology advances to speed up the arrival of new trends.

Momenta

Momenta Investments in China is investing in the future driving experience, even though the world economy is struggling. Daimler and other large carmakers have already invested $200 million in the company. Momenta's business model revolves around leveraging revenue-generating companies to fund research. Momenta's software-based self driving robotaxis could monitor the driver's behaviour and alert them if they lose focus or get distracted.

Perceptive Automation

Autonomous car startups are competing for the showroom spotlight, but one startup stands out above the rest: Perceptive Automata. This startup is developing software to help cars understand people and their intentions. It can be inserted into existing autonomous car stacks and used as an additional sensor to combine with other sensors to make quick judgments. This could enable cars to predict where the next step will be in a journey by understanding human intentions.

Carge

Carge is a great startup for car startups. This Greek startup is using the smartcar platform to unify thousands of public charging stations throughout Europe. Its proprietary algorithms predict the best times for EVs to charge. It also has a network of over 180,000 public charging points in 16 countries. It's a fantastic platform that both EV drivers can use and it's one of the most popular in Europe.

TiinTiin

Rolf Monteiro, who stepped down as CEO of the joint venture BeliMobilGue in July, also resigned from its board of directors in mid-March. While TiinTiin's CEO declined to share any specific performance figures, he did note that the startup has grown dramatically in the past year. As a result, his company is poised to continue its rapid growth.

Atlis

Atlis has not changed its plans for its arrival in late 2021. However, it's not far away. Executives say the car's final production price will be close to $45,000, but it may take three years to reach that level. The company launched a Kickstarter campaign in January to fund the construction of the 100 first pickups. They hope to deliver them all to their early backers by 2026. While prototypes are difficult to judge startups, Atlis doesn't plan to outsource anything. Instead, it will construct motors in-house as well as file "dozens of patent applications" related to its charging technology.

How to Become an Auto Technician

An automotive technician is responsible for vehicle maintenance and repair. He/she is employed at automobile dealerships, garages, service centres, and auto shops. He/she helps customers fix their cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, lawn mowers, snowmobiles, tractors, trailers, farm equipment, planes, helicopters, jet skis, watercraft, bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, golf carts, etc. A technician in automotive must be able diagnose and repair problems quickly, safely, accurately, efficiently, and effectively.

If you want to be an automotive technician, you need an associate degree from vocational school. After completing the program, he/she must take the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence certification exam. ASE stands to American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The ASE certification test consists two sections. One section tests knowledge of mechanical components, while the other section tests skills in practical areas. To pass the test, you will need to visit an authorized testing location. These locations can be found online or at your local auto dealer.

After passing the test, a candidate must pass a state examination before becoming licensed as an automotive technician. The process will vary depending on where an applicant lives. Some states require candidates to complete a training program, while others let them study on their own. Some states issue licenses to technicians as soon as they get their license. Others wait until they have worked at least six months as an automotive technician.

To become an automotive technician, one must apply at a local dealership. Most employees who are hired start as apprentices. Apprenticeship programs usually last three years. This is when a student can learn how to do basic repairs such as changing oil, adjusting brakes and replacing tires. Advanced repairs can be done by some students, including replacing shocks, installing air filters and repairing engines. Many schools offer classes during regular hours. However, some schools offer evening classes if needed.

Once a student finishes his/her apprenticeship, it is possible to become a Journeyman. Journeymen spend typically four to five years learning to install major systems such as transmissions and differentials, steering gear, suspensions and drive shafts.
